The high-precision grinding of diamond cutting tools requires superb craftsmanship. In order to obtain a more precise cutting edge arc radius, especially when the accuracy is less than 0.05um, a very strict requirement is imposed on the grinding machine, and extremely high rotation is necessary. The accuracy of the spindle shaft, the old-fashioned grinding machine has not been adapted, more began to use air bearings as a support, the grinding disc must be able to be flattened on the machine, so that the end of the beating control below 0.5um. The sharpening of PCD and PCBN is relatively easy, because the hardness is relatively low, and the diamond wheel can be used, while the thick-film diamond is different. Recently, the sharpening of diamond cutting tools has caused people's concerns. New grinding methods have been proposed successively. Among them, there are many introductions of thermochemical methods. For example, Prof. Yoshikawa Yoshida of Tokyo Institute of Technology in Japan used a cast iron disk heated to 800°C. In terms of accelerating grinding, it is believed that 70% of the grinding work is carried out on a rough ground. Therefore, most of the remaining amount can be removed first using a thermochemical method, and then the finishing work can be carried out to significantly improve the ergonomics of the diamond sharpening.
